Actor Sam Neill has sold his Double Bay home and made a little bit of history in the process. The four-bedroom Pearce St property was sold for an undisclosed price believed to be above $3.6 million through a virtual platform called Openn Negotiation, without an auctioneer – the first home in the eastern suburbs to sell this way.

Gerard Healy has sold his beach house at 95 Ocean Blvd, Jan Juc.

A buyer has swooped on the Jan Juc holiday home of footy great and media personality Gerard Healy.

The On the Couch host and 1988 Brownlow medallist — whose decorated playing career for Melbourne and Sydney also included three All-Australian selections and four club best and fairest awards — listed 95 Ocean Blvd for $1.75-$1.85 million in mid March.

It sold just 24 days later, after racking up more than 4360 views on realestate.com.au, but the price it achieved is undisclosed.

Online auctions: big results notched as crowds tune in across Melbourne

Online auctions drew in big crowds, as people tuned into the competition from their living rooms.

About 122 groups watched on as six bidders competed for the keys of 68 Roy St in Donvale on Anywhere Auctions. The online bidding service was inundated with 87 bids before the hammer finally fell at $905,000.

Barry Plant Doncaster East agent Jason Stepanow said it was fantastic to notch a result $75,000 above reserve in the office’s first online auction.
