93 Weller Street, Geelong West, has sold for $1.05 million.

The real estate industry’s embrace of virtual technology has helped a seal a million-dollar purchase of a Geelong West property.

A South Australian buyer has purchased a double-fronted Victorian era house in Geelong West sight-unseen.

Hodges, Geelong West agent Marcus Falconer said the Adelaide buyer has paid $1.05 million for the renovated house at 93 Weller Street — the top end of the price range.

“This was a testament to the new virtual world that we are actually living in,” Mr Falconer said.

“Basically, (the buyer) responded to the video of the property where they are able to clearly see what she was getting for her money.

“She was in the process returning to live in Geelong. They lived in Geelong some 20 years ago, so knew the spot.”

Mr Falconer said the location was a prime drawcard for the 372sq m property.

“There is no better location for proximity to Geelong’s best in all the shopping you need is right on your doorstep,” he said.

“There’s a park at the end of the street in Sparrow Park and they needed a mid-sized double fronted Victorian that had been nicely renovated — it had the second bathroom and it ticked all the boxes because it had quite the manageable backyard.”
