The elevated acreage house near Cairns that comes with a ‘monster shed’

This resort-style house has plenty of wow factor, including a spectacular entertaining area, infinity pool and, oh yeh, that ‘monster shed’.

Located at Smithfield, 78 Stanton Road offers 0.4 hectares with views and plenty of awesome lifestyle amenities.

It is being sold by its original owners, and offers privacy, beautiful views and cool breezes.

Why now might be the time to invest in the property market

The house has four bedrooms and two bathrooms, and has an open plan design that focuses on connecting the indoors with the outdoors.

Speaking of outdoors, it is here you will find a stunning, tiled designer wet edge infinity pool, landscaped gardens and outdoor deck, perfect for entertaining.

Inside you will find a chefs kitchen with all of the mod cons, a media room with a sound system and speakers, and a king-sized master bedroom with an “awesome” walk-in robe and luxury ensuite.

But it is that shed that left the listing agent speechless.

“When it comes to the shed. Well where do I begin?” the listing by Twomey Schriber Property Group says.

“9m wide and 15m long, 3 bay with extra high doors, fully powered including 3 phase, plumbed water, mezzanine level, polished concrete floors, walls fully insulated with pink batts covered with 18mm ply finished with lucabond cladding. Just WOW!”

And the pictures show it is a tinkerers dream.

The stunning property and … wait for it …

Agent Karl Latham said the Smithfield shed was the “ultimate shed”.

But he said the owner was selling up to build what could be the “monster of all monster sheds” in Cairns, and possibly Queensland.

“The reason he is selling is because he has bought another acreage property where he is building a 500 sqm shed,” Mr Latham said.

FYI, the average Aussie house in 2020 was 235.8sq m, according to the latest CommSec Home Size Trends Report, released last month.

“The average new house built in Australia in 2019/20 was 235.8 square metres, up 2.9 per cent on the year and the biggest increase in 11 years,” the CommSec report said.

“US houses built over the 2019 calendar year (latest data) fell for the fourth year, down 3 per cent to 2,509 square feet (the equivalent of 233.1 square metres), according to data commissioned by CommSec from the Australian Bureau of Statistics.”

So that makes old mate’s new shed more than double the average Aussie house.

But Mr Latham said the “monster shed” was still the ultimate “man shed”, or even “she shed”.

“This owner loves his cars … he has show cars, a drag car,” Mr Latham said.

“He did significant excavations to build this shed, put in hoists, mezzanine storage.

“It also has a security system, surround sound, all of the bells and whistles.

“And you could just about eat your dinner off the floor of this shed.”

So how much does this Smithfield resort-style house with impeccable gardens and “that shed” go for?

It could be yours for $1.4 million.

But Mr Latham said negotiations for the property were already underway.

And those car hoists are “open to negotiation”.

So buyers, on your marks, get set, go!
