A five-year-old unusual house in Frenchs Forest is the fifth most viewed property in NSW this week.
The contemporary home in Kens Rd is the only property in the northern beaches to make the top ten most viewed homes on the realestate.com.au list compiled based on online hits between June 4 and June 11.
Ian Clarke, of Stone Real Estate said Frenchs Forest is very conservative with many of the homes very alike so buyers seem drawn to something that is a bit unusual.
“We have had professionals, two generations, young families and one family with a special-needs child look at the home, it has generated a lot of interest,” he said.
The five-bedroom house might not suit everyone as it is on the side of a hill with steps and a lift but Mr Clarke said many multi-generational buyers were interested and the separate accommodation was a huge drawcard.
The granny flat or self-contained accommodation is on the lower level with its own kitchen, laundry, bedroom, living area and bathroom.
“It is the perfect option for a multi-generational family or those looking for a home plus income,” the agent said.
Inside there are high ceilings, timber floors, walls of glass and wraparound decks.
The main home is on one level and has open-plan lounge and dining, a modern gas kitchen, an additional guest suite with its own bathroom and living area can be separated from the rest of the house.
The home has two double carports, 696sqm of land, an entertaining terrace and is a walk to the highly-regarded Davidson High School, suburban shops and public transport.
The median house price for Frenchs Forest, according to realestate.com.au is $1.59 million based on 135 sales over the last 12 months.
This architect designed house has a price guide of $2 million and yet there is plenty of interest. Mr Clarke said with the Northern Beaches Hospital opening he has seen a rise in the number of professionals wanting to buy in the area.
