National Housing Data Methodology – Redfin

Introducing the new national & regional metrics

Redfin releases data on a variety of housing indicators each month on our Data Center. Most of the data for these metrics come directly from the local Multiple Listing Services (MLS). Additionally, a handful of metrics are verified with public records data. Historically, all of Redfin’s housing metrics were first calculated at the county and metropolitan division level, then a weighted average (by the number of home sales transactions) was used for each month to derive the national estimates.

Renovation queen Cherie Barber sells western Sydney investment property

Cherie Barber has secured the quick sale of her western Sydney investment.

Renovation queen Cherie Barber has again put her money where her mouth is, selling an investment property in Sydney’s west less than a week into its marketing campaign — securing a cool $290,000, before renovation and building costs.

The Renovating For Profit founder, who bought the Colyton property in 2016 for $580,000, flipped it for $870,000. The pretty-as-a-picture three-bedroom single-storey home, built in 1975, now also has a brand new two-bedroom granny flat with a separate entrance.
