When it comes to popular stops in Port Adelaide, it’s hard to look past Anika Havey’s labour of love – Folklore Cafe.

Opening the doors in 2015, Anika says her goal was to simply learn the ins and outs of running a business.

“I really didn’t know where it would take me,” she says.

“Over the years it’s bred a life of its own and has become a little hub with staff and friends that have contributed to it being such a special place – I feel very fortunate to be part of it.”

As she prepares to reopen the doors this month, Anika says she hopes to see familiar faces for a coffee, a bite to eat and a chat.

“It’s worth the detour; plus, you might see a dolphin!” she says.

When she’s not serving the masses delicious food and coffee, Anika says she loves nothing more than spending time in her quaint family home and luscious garden.

“I love my kitchen because it has lots of natural light and character,” she says.

“It’s also a communal space to eat and socialise, it brings a lot of life.”
