Located in North Ward, 205/72-74 The Strand offers residents what is arguably the best view in town.
“Every major event, fireworks, parades, air shows, seems like it is being put on especially for us,” owner Josh Cinner said.
“We can just sit on our massive 20sq m veranda and enjoy the best view in town with no hassles.”
Having moved into the property with his wife, Michelle, nearly six years ago, the Cinners and their two children, Ezra, 3, and Isaiah, 11 months, have loved every minute of their time by the ocean.
“We wanted an open plan unit on The Strand with a view (and) this place (checked) all the boxes,” Mr Cinner said.
“We are out on The Strand almost every day and we watch the sunset over the ocean from the veranda nearly every night; but four people in two bedrooms is getting a bit tight for us.
“When we originally bought the property it was just the two of us, and we didn’t expect little ones to be joining us so soon – but life has a way of making your plans for you.”
Both academics responsible for research on marine conservation at James Cook University, the Cinners have loved living right by the beach, with the ocean just a few steps from their doorstep.
“We are definitely a water-loving family – even our 11-month-old,” Mr Cinner said.
“Between the beach out front and the 25m pool in the complex, we’re always in the water.”
Originally from Canada, the Cinners have travelled all over the world for their work, with annual trips to the Californian mountains one of their favourite holidays before COVID.
Yet even with the whole world to explore, when it comes time to come home and relax, the Cinners know that they’ve struck gold at The Strand.
“We absolutely love living here,” Mr Cinner said.
“The whole complex is very luxurious – when you’re here, you feel like you’re at a resort on vacation,” Mr Cinner said.
“Honestly, it has made many of our vacations disappointing- we have a better view and pool at home than almost everywhere we vacation.
“Life doesn’t get better than that.”
Comprised of two bedrooms and two bathrooms and set across 141sq m, the unit has been described by M Property Townsville – Townsville City agent Tracey Stack as a “slice of paradise”, with other features including a stone island kitchen with European appliances and an “excellent” design to maximise breezes.
“The north-facing aspect means we get no western sun (and) we’ve nicknamed the apartment ‘The Wind Tunnel’, since we get this beautiful breeze blowing through it all year.”
With an asking price of $615,000 and inspections available upon request, the main suite is sure to be a key selling point.
“When we saw the luxurious ensuite we just had to buy the place,” Mr Cinner said.
From its central location right on The Strand, the luxury of nearby beaches, cafes, restaurants, playgrounds and water parks are all just moments away.
“We end up going to so many events we didn’t even plan on because they are literally just downstairs at Strand Park or Jezzine Barracks,” Mr Cinner said.
“The location is really hard to beat.
“When you live here, there is no friction to do the things you want to do; you just go downstairs and do them.
“Life is literally at your doorstep.”
